Fantastic 6pm Service Launch and Dinner |
| Posted by Mark Hood on 15th April, 2010 |
Ever since the 27th of April, 1913 when the first services we're held at St. Mark's, people have gathered to pray and hear God's word at a 7pm Evening service.
Now, for the first time, on Sunday 11th April 2010, we have launched our Evening Congregation at the new time of 6pm, with the aim of making the unchanging Gospel of Jesus Christ more available to more people (particularly young workers and Uni and Secondary School students).
During our service, we once more were able to gather around God's work, as our Vicar Greg opened Ephesians 2 to us. We prayed, and we sung out our praises to God for his kindness to us.
Praise God for his mercy in maintaining a witness to the good news of Christ for almost 100 years in our Evening Congregation!
Praise God for all those who've gone before us at St Marks (and in other places) who have brought the good news to us in word and deed!
And now may God use us, at the 6pm Congregation to reach the next generation of people with the message of Christ through our lives and deeds such that God's kingdom might grow through us and be evident in the community around us, because of us.
Thanks to all who took part in the service, and who brought the wonderful to share. Many commented to me "how fantastic" the night was. Indeed. Praise God.
in Christ, Mark
