Kids’ African Famine Relief Fundraising Dinner - September 10th
We would like to let you know about an exciting event coming up at St Marks. We are planning on holding a dinner to fundraise for the Famine relief effort in Eastern Africa. There is a major crisis in parts of Kenya, Somalia and Sudan as a result of drought and high food costs. This dinner will be planned, cooked and served by kids - hopefully to our friends and family (at a cost of course) and money raised donated to TEAR.
In Sunday Club the kids have been learning about poverty and helping those in need and this is a fabulous practical way to make a difference. We will need plenty of kids on the team - there will be jobs in decoration, entertainment, cooking, serving and more!
Please talk to your kids and see if they would be keen to join the team. We’d like to make this event something we can do with the wider community, so we also encourage kids to invite their friends to be part of the team as well. Time commitment will be limited to the afternoon and early evening of September 10th, and possibly another afternoon meeting on a weekend.
If you would like to be part of the dinner please contact the office: office@stmarkscamberwell.org.au
Thanks for your support - it will be a fabulous event and a great experience for all involved!
Regards,
Alisa, Amanda & Sunday Club Leaders.
