New accessway underway |
| Posted by Mark Hood on 19th June, 2008 |
The wheelbarrows have arrived. The foundations are being readied. Weather-permitting this Friday, we'll be pouring the concrete to pave the way for our new and improved church accessway.
This project will enable us to have a single level - no step - wheelchair, walker, pram accessway to the side door of the church: meaning that we can further enhance our welcome particularly to visitors of St. Mark's.
'Welcome one another...just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.' (Rom 15:7)
This new concrete path, pictured right, is stage 1 of our 2 stage plan towards improving access to our church building and parish centre.
The accessway is, in large part, the fruit of our Church fair proceeds (see our previous post). In addition, we have now ordered the wheel chair lift, which will be installed to operate over the side door steps.
Praise God for this funding, this work, and the welcome that we are able to extend to others.
[Weather-permitting, the new path should be available for use on Sunday. In the meantime, to enter the parish centre from the Canterbury Rd carpark, please take the circuitous route around the church.]
