Winter household needs for our brothers and sisters in Footscray |
| Posted by Mark Hood on 15th June, 2009 |
Our brothers and sisters in Christ from the Southern Sudan region, and now settling in Footscray would greatly appreciate a number of household items this winter. Can you help?
Southern Sudanese refugee families continue to arrive in Australia and some find their new home in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. They arrive with very little in the way of material needs. If you are able to help provide any of the following items, they would be greatly appreciated:
· Warm, clean blankets
· Warm, clean clothing – for babies, children and adults
· Clean pillows and bed linen
· Good quality, clean kitchen utensils – china, cutlery, saucepans etc (no electrical appliances)
I go to Footscray on Tuesday mornings during term time, and am happy to take items over with me. Please only donate items that are clean and in good condition, so when received they are ready to wear or use. Donations are sorted through before being taken to Footscray and, unfortunately, in the past many have not been in an acceptable condition to deliver. I would ask you to please be discerning in your selection of goods to donate.
Items could either be left at the church office, or you could phone me (via the church office 9882 3776) and arrange for me to collect them or for you to drop them off at my home.
Many thanks, Jan Harcourt
